Appearance:
While not unattractive with her blonde hair, blue eyes and good proportions she does carry a layer of adipose from good eating though stops short of actually being overweight, more falling in the comfortably chubby weight range. She usually keeps her hair straight or bound into a poneytail whenever she's active and tends to obscure her eyes with a pair of stylish low perscription glasses. She tends to wear comfortable tomboyish clothes, preferring to marry practicality with style, not afraid of looking less than entirely effeminate which does seem to suit her general build quite well. She can rarely be found without a satchel or backpack containing the latest and greatest of gadgets as she has the habit of splurging large amounts of her allowance on electronics.
As a clumsy child she did manage to hurt herself on many an occasion, she walks with a limp from an old riding accident, and she has poor sight in her left eye, is hard of hearing in her left ear. She does seem reluctant to discuss either of these events though.

Background:
Meriam comes from a background of old money, her parents are of British and Scandinavian nobility who made it big on the fortunes of their families in the north sea oil business and having controlling interest in the german and russian heavy industry as well as many other ventures across the world. Her older siblings following suit, either going into business themselves or excelling at sports or academic persuits. Being the youngest of such a lineup and fully expected to be an overachiever too was hard on the relatively lazy yet no less ambitious Meriam.

Meriam's birth was an unconventional affair, her parents had been attending an oil and gas business function held in Banf and so far her mother's pregnancy had proceeded without a hitch much like those her older siblings when allmost a month premature her mother entered into labour in the Calgary International Airport on their way home. She was rushed to the local hospital where minutes later little Meriam was born. Four months later she was cleared to fly back home to their summer residence outside of Karlstad where she spent most of her early childhood.

Four years later Realmfall occured. Her family was fortunate enough to be staying in Austria when it happened, only her oldest brother Johan who was on a boating holiday in greece got caught in it and to this date has remained amongst the many people still missing. Since then Meriam mostly grew up in the UK in the many estates that the family owns up and down the isle. There her preference for the english language cemented itsself, she had never taken strongly to Swedish in her early childhood and her mother, deeply shocked by the events that transpired, refused to even talk about her home country for many years afterwards. Later in life during highschool she made several half hearted attempts to learn german, french and even russian at one point but these never panned out, leaving her with only the vaguest of half remembered notions about the languages and the swedish theme song to the Moomins TV series.

After she graduated highschool at 18 she initially got enrolled in a business school by her parents. Quickly discovering that she had no talent at, nor any interest in business she barely bothered to attend classes and eventually dropped out. After that she moved from the one bullshit program to the next, dropping out of most as her interest in that particular topic reached it's saturation and lazyness overtook her curiosity. This same habit of aquiring and ditching persuits carried over to her hobbies as well, while riding and marksmanship were family staples she took up and ditched many hobbies and sports like hockey, chess, violin, bagpipes, piano, fencing, swimming and various others.

Eventually while enrolled for the degree Bachelor of Arts in Interplanar Relations her interest in the realms was awakened, the subject had always been somewhat taboo in her family, lands of dangerous places and dangerous people who weren't quite civilized anymore, a place that had caused so much pain and suffering for her parents as well as memories of an old house with a large garden and roadsigns with funny words on them. Soon the temptation to find out more about this place overwhelmed her and she took a transfer program through the Titus Bering Academy, eventually joining in with an expedition into the overworld with nary a word to her parents.
